Deporting Harvard
Schools out -- of money that is, not counting what's left in the bank. It's this week's news.

Hey Friends,
Good morning to everyone, except the budgeting department at Harvard.
Personally, I think College is like a whetstone. If you're already a knife, you can sharpen the blade. But it won't make you what you are not. More on that in a second.
Let's get to The News.

Hot Takes
Week 16 of 2025
Deported
BREAKING: This week, an artist proposed changing the text of the poem featured on the Statue of Liberty, inspired by Trump's recent successes in deporting people, some of them who may possibly be illegal migrants. The text will read as follows:
Give us your tired, your poor, and your huddled masses unless they have tattoos or start taking our jobs or pushing up the price of housing, possibly eating dogs as well. In which case, we should build a wall, however impractical, and expect it to work without enough border agents. Also fine, though, because we'll use the military as well. If budget allows (or even if it doesn’t), we can start deporting people whether they need it or not, and beware that some slip through the cracks.
It's a bit long, so some are afraid that there is not enough space. Others are afraid that the Statue of Liberty herself may be deported if too much attention is drawn to her.
These fears are not unfounded. This week, a judge threatened to place the Government in contempt for its role in unjustly deporting a Maryland man and refusing to take steps to bring him back to the United States. The Supreme Court last week partially backed a judge's order requiring officials to "facilitate" the Salvadoran national's release, after the government conceded his deportation was an "administrative error". Trump officials have so far refused to comply with the order. (more)
Trade War
Trade wars are a lot easier when your Fed Chair will lower interest rates when you want him to, but alas, Jerome did nothing of the sort. That's why Trump chewed him out (over Truth Social), calling him. "TOO LATE AND WRONG" (punctuation his). Jerome Powell said interest rate decisions will wait until there is more clarity about Trump’s policies, which I would argue he is very clear that "tariff" is one of the most beautiful words in the English language. The latest in the trade war that Trump is waging against the world has been narrowed down, marginally. The goals seem to be a "conscious uncoupling" from China – which is Hollywood speak for telling your longtime partner to fuck off and hoping to make it sound like a good thing. The latest policies, which by the time this email is delivered, are outdated, have some Chinese tariffs at 245%, which most Americans wouldn't pay for all the tea in China. With Christmas approaching, many kids are actually asking for a lump of coal, because they know it’s made in the USA and is probably worth something on the black market. (more)
Harvard
After pressuring Columbia to cave to his demands, Donald Trump has gone to war with Harvard. Although he was the guy who said he would end all the wars, he started all the rest of them and has hardly accomplished the former. This week he went tow-head to toe with Harvard for being way too DEI with nowhere near enough MAGA. Colleges need their groups of students with tucked-in shirts trying to be the next Charlie Kirk, but Harvard hardly had a blue button-down to be found. Instead, in masks and Birkenstocks, they plan their next protest, which they call "homework."
So, because of their differences, Trump has threatened to yank $2 billion in funding and, if possible, remove their tax-exempt status. Harvard says it isn't backing down, and if they can stomach tapping into their $53 billion, they might be able to stick to their guns. Should the Executive Branch control education? Should Harvard shed what some call reverse discrimination practices? Only opinions exist to answer this question, but I can tell you that it looks like the clash of them will leave blood on the wall. Googled It
Even a 5 second google could have told you that Google was a monopoly. A judge made it official this week when he said that the $1.88 trillion company was wrong to build its advertising across websites all over the world. This Hot Take is sponsored by BetterHelp. If your business is facing monopoly lawsuits from the federal government, you might find yourself depressed and in need of a therapist who can help you navigate these challenging stages in life. Also, this Hot Take is sponsored by HRNDN Brand Agency. If your brand is depressed, we have the treatment. Please note, ads are fed to this website by Google AdSense, an Alphabet Monopoly Company.
